Pop Music Japanese

Kayōkyoku is a Japanese pop music genre, which became a base of recent J-pop. The Nihon Times describes kayōkyoku as \"standard Japanese pop\" or \"Showa era pop\".

Kayōkyoku is Western-style music of Nihon and music in this genre is extremely varied. Kayōkyoku in the narrower and more practical sense, however, also excludes J-pop and enka.

Unlike \"J-pop\" singers such as Southern All Stars' Keisuke Kuwata, the singers of the kayōkyoku genre does not basically use the primary pronunciation like English language. However, the primary pronunciation was also heard in kayōkyoku singer Momoe Yamaguchi's song \"Rock 'n' Roll Widow\".
